Commodore Returns with New Gaming PCs

Can't speak for the 1200, but I had an original 500 upgraded to 2mb of RAM and I loved it. The 500+ had the newer, dodgier version of Workbench and the 600 was just awful. My mum gave my 500 to my little cousin
Not sure what to make of that site. Looks very trendy, which for an electronics manufacturer might indicate they're aiming at teenagers and as such their products might be a victim of style over content.
Aha! After consulting Wiki it seems it was Kickstart not Workbench that I hated on the 500+ and 600. It wouldn't load games like SWIV and Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge. Reading about it, it's quite astonishing the amount of mistakes Commodore made to lead to their downfall.
Tulip computers owned the name and set up that web site, they used to make the most monumentally shit PCs ever. I remember one design, where the power button on the front was connected by a plastic rod through the full depth of the case to a manual switch on the PSU at the back.
It's offical 'period of time' mods (gotta love the ebay and amiga retailers who still exist).
Besides, having a keyboard and floppy on a cd32, means I get to play disk games as well as CD's, also, harddrivage for saves and installs. Mmmm, and 16 meg fast ram

I both agree and disagree with this. I feel the fact that they're building a prebuilt computer around an old fashioned name. This is very similar to the Fatal1ty line really, thus the 'trendy' website comes around. Although I feel the link to teenagers is less so, because most of todays teenagers won't know enough about the commodore name to really appreciate it. Although I really don't like that website, too much flash.

It's possible they've just got a web designer and said 'make us a cool site'.

I got a A1200 after some cupcake poured coffee into my A500 when I was using it to do graphics for a big video display at a festival. Ahh, hand drawn graphics using Deluxe Paint (which I always pronounced Dulux, for giggles). Those were the days...
