Tonight I've been experimenting in Creative mode with manned torpedoes and tugs. Both need more power it seems, and the torpedo with 9 warheads makes a spaceman sized hole in the platform.

I've been thinking a spacecraft carrier might be fun to build, give us something to move smaller, cheaper toys around, basically because we nearly ate that rock we're parked on.

Few turrets etc for defence wouldn't hurt either. :)

Rather than build it from scratch, we could convert the platform into a ship.

Could we incorporate the rock in it?

Alas, no, at the moment asteroids are unmoving. Its something on the planned features list but its not in the game yet.

It seems that platforms/stations aren't movable currently (from what I've read) could be wrong though.

This is basically what I've been building. Would welcome some help as it's only half done

You are half right. They aren't movable, but there is a button that turns stations into ships.

Neat. Blueprints was a mod I was about to post about, kinda cool they've incorporated it already.

Ive been trying a new single player world out to try and figure things out a bit better, i keep making the silly mistake while building a ship of grinding off the block that has the original landing gear attached to it, which causes the ship to slowly drift away. Ive tried adding more landing gears on the ship before this happens but they dont seem to actually lock even though it says they are in the control panel, do they require a source of power or is there another way to hold things in place while building? this is a mistake i seem to keep making and i don't see me not making it for some time haha

I think the server gone pooped. It lagged as I was messing around with crane settings. Crane meets Space Tuk Tuk, crane wins. A moment of silence for the small pink thing that was stuck up my backside.

I've been building a ship to blueprint in Creative this afternoon.

On a completely unrelated note, protips:

1. Blueprint often, especially before a test flight.

2. Beware of lateral movement when firing rockets from rearward pylons.

Terrorpin II lives! I tried going up against a mining ship and... didn't do too bad actually. The mining ship got away as just bullets don't seem to cut it when you're trying to stop a ship but we currently lack the resources for rockets. With that I'll be unstoppable! Or I'll explode, which is not unlikely.

There are a lot of shiny eye candy mods and some potentially over powered cheaty ones. However there are also some very useful ones we might consider (should be MP compatible and dedi server safe). Above all though this would be really really useful:

Are there any chat improvement mods out there?

Incidentally, the berkship is now driveable relatively controllably, (though more thrusters would be good) so I docked it the the station, apologies for any eclipses that may occur. :)

God damn it, I got shot out of my ship and went looking for it when I respawned but it was nowhere to be found. It was more than armoured enough to protect the antenna and reactor inside from gatling turrets. This is bullshit.
