That game is probably a no-go for me until release. It looks promising, but will require an RPS Wot-I-Think before purchase. Also, UPlay. Eugh.

This. I think its either going to be awesome or a huge disappointment, so I am waiting till I know more.

Eh, UPlay is not that bad. Don't get me wrong, I would prefer there to not be a UPlay, but its no GfWL. Its not going to put me off purchasing a game I would otherwise be interested in.

I'm enjoying playing this when I get chance. Reminds me of Flashback with more point-and-click style puzzles and less platforming action.

Interestingly enough, according to some comments on RPS the voice actress for Ms Pauling apparently recorded her lines nearly 3 years ago. Valve Time in action again.

I suspect this is one of those side project things that gets fiddled with in spare time over a few years.

Either way, worth it.

Apparently Death Wing is going to be an FPS. The attention to detail in that video looks in terms of graphics looks good, though it's a shame bolters are being treated as sub machine guns again and there didn't appear to be any bursts of energy when power fists and swords connected with genestealers.

I always thought storm bolters were the equivalent of sub machine guns?

The massive genestealer at the end made me laugh.

Calibre looks too small. Broodlord looks a bit bigger than it should, unless it's meant to be a ravener.

You sure?
I'm not doubting them being automatics, but I remember reading somewhere something like they're meant to be double the rate of fire of a normal bolt rifle ('cus it's two of them stuck together, obvs), and as bolt rifles are meant to be rather slow (couple of rounds a second =~ 120 rpm), I'd always pegged stormbolters to be slow firing assault rifles at around 200-300 rpm.

The video looks as if they're basically MP5 like, spitting out bullets at a ridiculous rate about 800 rpm. Might just be my take on it though.

Pretty sure. Having gone for a look on various wikis I cant find any direct reference to their rate of fire, but there's a number of references to them being ammo hungry. I did find a special storm bolter that fired unusually quickly and was said to fire up to 300 rounds in a few seconds.

You may be thinking of combi-bolters, which *are* literally two bolters stuck together. A storm bolter is taking the combi-bolter idea and making it work better, and one of the ways it specifically says it is better is that it fires faster.

Having said that, I think the ones in the video might be going a *little* fast. Taking the size of the rounds, the rate of fire and the size of the ammo boxes I would imagine you would have to reload every time you pulled the trigger if they actually worked like that. Not that 40k has ever really been about realism in any way of course.
