I've been watching Orange Is the New Black, currently a Netflix exclusive. It's about a women's prison, in turns funny, tense and shocking and it's totally gripped me.

I stayed away from bothering to check Netflix exclusives thinking they'd be a bit shit to only be picked up by them, but after reading some positive comments on it while reading about something else I thought I'd give it a go. Best drama series I've seen in a while.

Thompy wrote:Looking forward to New Girl S3. First two seasons were very strong. If you haven't seen it don't be put off by the premise, yes it's basically a romance sitcom but it's seriously funny at times and the character are suitably wacky. And you know, Zooey Deschanel. She does things to me.

The Mentalist has finally revealed who Red John is. Eight episodes into the new series, and all the run up ones were Red John relevant, so if you needed to scratch that persistent itch you might as well check them out.

I'm not sure if I'm ready to forgive season 4, but I'll try.

The writer for seasons 1,2 and 3 is back. Season 4 guy's out.

Also Chevy Chase is out, and Mike from Breaking Bad is in.

So, there is a version of the pilot episode of Archer where he is entirely replaced by a velociraptor

Anyone see House of Fools? I think I liked it quite a lot. It was very silly and there was plenty of gags.

The Blacklist: Seems to be a love or hate kind of thing among critics. In my experience, it's pretty good, especially with James Spader. Could be because I liked Boston Legal, who knows.

Arrow: Yes, it's a superhero thing. Also, the first season was at least a bit too cheesy, but it got its shit together pretty well for the second season and in my experience is the best series this season. (Although, I must add I'm a comic geek without actually reading comics.)

I really enjoyed Blacklist. Daft but fun.

Latest episode of Community was good - Nathan Fillion! Shame that Alison Brie's neck is getting old :(

Inside No. 9 - The new dark comedy programme from two of the members of The League of Gentlemen is rather good. The first episode was a well written, set mostly inside a large wardrobe. Interesting and slightly strange characters, as you'd probably expect. Looking forward to the next episode.

True Detective

Are you watching this? You should be watching this, it's great. Feels like a mix between Twin Peaks, Red Riding, and something else I can't put my finger on. Great performances from Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey.

Today I came to the realisation I really rather dislike the walking dead, I've watched the first season a couple of times, and the second season through at least once, and have generally really, really tried to enjoy it. but I just can't really get over the fact it's generally so pant shittingly dull.

Am I missing something?

I hope so, because some people at work have recommended I pick it up as they think it's rather good.

Nope, I came to much the same conclusion. I thought it was due to having read the books first, which are far better. Maybe not.

I also agree, but then I don't have much patience with US drama shows anyway. The first season seemed fine, but it just takes too long to get the story across. I'm sticking with the comics, which are very good.

:above: The comics and the Telltale adventure game are both ace, and make the tellyprogram irrelevant.
