There aren't doors on these apertures, they just open up onto stairs. Down, in this case. You can hear a bit of a commotion from the bottom.

Forget sneakiness this time. I'll still check my corners with the A/V stalk, but otherwise I'm going for speed rather than stealth.

The room at the bottom looks like the room you came in through, but below the main chamber rather than above. In it are half a dozen anxious, techie looking guys all arguing and fussing over one who has an Oyster wired into the electronic lock on the (closed) door.

I'll set my last concussion grenade for 1 second and toss it at them.

Some of them stare at the grenade in disbelief as it rolls amongst them, but most don't notice. Any reaction is brief, since it explodes before it even stops moving. The blast knocks them off their feet to a man, and when you peer back into the room none are moving.

The unconscious guys don't get up, and Grimmie seems noncommital. The Oyster is 90% of the way through hacking the digital lock on the sturdy metal door.

I'll cancel the operation if possible. After that's done, I'd like to see if there is information on the oyster about what's behind the locked door and/or the operations going on here at the facility.

Cancelling is easy, you just unplug it. There's nothing about what's behind the door, it looks like the Oyster is being used as a personal device by one of the lab-coats, and contains various notes about cybernetics and behavioural control via drugs and electrodes. Past that, and with only a cursory skim, you don't really understand the vast majority of it.

I'll copy all the data I can to my oyster to send to Risikko.

I think at this point we should interrogate the detainees and assuming no one talks, call it in to Risikko and be done with the job.

Well, commence the killings! I'll coldly, remorselessly murder the poor unconscious bastards down here with my long knife before rejoining the rest of the group upstairs.
