Maybe the next time it'll be alright.

Is Chris Pratt being serious? I'm not sure I can take him seriously.

It's a film about a dinosaur theme park - I don't tend to overthink films like that.

Also it's generally good advice that, if you find trailers spoil a film, you don't watch the trailers. There was a study not too long ago that shows spoilers often enhance enjoyment of a book or film (I'll link when I'm back home), but clearly not everyone is the same.

Personally I don't understand why people watch them and then do nothing but moan.

Because some people like to moan and so seek out things to moan about. Some people. I'm not mentioning names.

Re-reading what I wrote I do concede it was more of a rant and I'm sorry for that, but I was also trying to make a point that in my eyes there's been a trend over the last few years for trailers spoiling key plot points or big spectacular set pieces which then takes a way the impact of those things when you come across them in the final product.

I'm not saying spoilers should be avoided completely, but
I am concerned with their size and scope.

I'm sure I've seen a few old-timey trailers that basically gave away the whole film so I don't think it's a recent trend. As for the Jurassic World trailer; what they show in the trailer doesn't seem all that spoilery to me, they're just explaining what the plot is about. It's like saying the trailer for X-men ruins the film because it shows two groups of mutants fighting each other. Some trailers are pretty spoilery though, but I don't think this one is.

Very this. Terminator 2 is a famous example of a major plot point being given away in the trailer: go back and watch it imagining that you didnt know Arnie was the good guy and the other guy is an evil shape shifting robot. Its totally not obvious at first, and it implies for a long time that the setup is the same as Terminator 1: Arnie is the evil killer robot and a human has been sent back to stop him. The reveal of the truth could have been mindblowing.

Except some muppet gave the game away in the trailer, so it surprised noone. I bet the director was pissed.

I was all set to approach the new films with a healthy cynicism, and then as soon as I saw the guy in Stormtrooper armour I got excited. Then when I saw the Millennium Falcon like that I nearly spewed up with glee.

The last films released actually caused me to go off the original trilogy for some time (good job, George!), but I got a few goosebumps during that trailer.

I'm not sure - I now know that there will be Stormtroopers, Jedis fighting Sith, and spaceship dog fights. It's also totally unrealistic how they portray the X-Wings being able to fly.

I thought all Stormtroopers were clones of Jango Fett or something? Ah well, that freaky lightsaber with the crossguard was interesting - kind of makes sense if you think about it - doing the same job it does for swords only on something a million times sharper.

The desert planet (probably is where you think), speeders and the Falcon ticked all the Good boxes though.
