If you want some more RAM Doggers, I've got 8gb (2x4gb) of Corsair Vengence 9-10-9-27 DDR3 1866 which I was going to stick on ebay as I upgraded to 16gb the other week (for ~£80ish).
Tech sales are a bit weird, normally because PC bits aren't something you'd normally by on a whim.

Re: Star Wars: The Spoilers Awaken
So, someone has gone off an made a video showing just how much of a homage VII was to the original 3, enjoy: https://vimeo.com/160504168 (I miss our old media tags!) Altenatively, you could view it on just how much JJA nicked from the others and how it really wasn't its own film. It's good video tho...

Re: TV Show Mini-Reviews
Dunno if anyone watched it, but the BBC's Happy Valley was really rather good and is another reason why I have no problem with the TV Licence (and no adverts!) when the Beeb create excellent content such as it.

Re: Movie mini reviews
I can't fathom the rather negative critical reception of it though. It's far better than Iron Man 3.

Re: Movie mini reviews
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justic I enjoyed this. Ben Affleck is actually really good as an older and more bitter Batman/Bruce Wayne. All the performances of the main actors were pretty good, Irons was a bit underused though and much more laconic than Michael Caine was. I'd actually say, which is s...

Looks fun. Certainly looks like it'll be better than Ghostbusters at any rate.

Re: Movie Trailers
The problem with remakes is that the studios keep picking good or classic movies to do. That itself is a large part of the problem. Something which is already viewed as a good or classic film is setting a really high bar to reach, and invariably, lots of stuff falls short. Even if the new one is oka...

Kung Fu Panda 3 Saw this at the weekend for a friend's birthday while in the midst of a bout of flu. It's a decent film. Pretty much more of the same for the KFP series, each film is a good natured story of self discovery, and par the course for a Disney film. I probably wouldn't watch it again for...

Re: XCOM 2
Salvaged the play through, now doing really well at the moment and I'm deep into September. Things I've spotted: 1) Psi-ops are really, really powerful. Null Lances *everywhere*! 2) Reducing the Red Blocks definitely slows down the dark events. Just under the mid point and it's approx 12 weeks to th...

Re: Movie Trailers
Yeaaahh. I know it's a trailer, but it screams slapstick comedy trying to be funny and riff of the originals, rather than being like the originals which had a semi-serious plot and base, but with comedic moments. Could go either way due to it being trailer. Don't have much hopes though considering t...

Firewatch I've really enjoyed this. Looks lovely, plays well, dialogue and character interaction between Henry and Delilah is top notch. It's rather engaging, one part in particular really swept me up in it as a gaming experience. It's short though. RPS said it took six hours, I did it in about 4 a...

Re: XCOM 2
Did you unlock any Second Wave options upon completion Pantsu? I found in the first game they made subsequent playthroughs quite interesting. Re timers: In Enemy Within I found they were perfectly okay (if occasionally impossible), but that's because they weren't tied into mission success or fail an...

I've just tried my hand at doing some tempura prawns. Tasted pretty good, but I mixed the batter too much and made a school boy error and didn't give my prawns a dry coat first, so it was really more like fried prawns rather than proper tempura. No pictures this time around because of that. Was rath...

One nice little touch I've spotted recently is your "gravely wounded" soldiers actually gain scars. I've got a rather grizzled looking Lt. of a Specialist sporting some pretty hefty scars now.

So, another campaign restart and I come bearing the following advice for Veteran Ironman's:
If your squads aren't rocking Warden Armour (or equiv) and fully kitted out with plasma guns before July in game, you've lost. It's that simple.

I did a non-5punk beard this weekend.
Bit of DnD 3.5. I ended up with a middle aged half-orc wizard who was as charismatic and dexterious as hell, but with an intelligence of 11. His name is Latex Package. Rather amusing, but definitely trying to get him killed off on account of being an idiot

Blacksites range from 1 to 2 for me. Possibly 4 as per Doggers.
The description says they slow down the project. Not entirely sure how coupled they are to the dark events on that front, I'd guess they wouldn't, as dark events are the ones having an affect on the project.
