Long War 2 mod is out.

It's been made by the guys behind Long War in conjunction with Firaxis. It changes a lot of stuff. Geoscape and all. I never played the original but it's considered very good. Will probably have a go with this over the weekend.

Hmm, seemingly out of the blue they've released a Nurgle team for the game. A variation of the normal Chaos team, but adding a couple of extra types.

Arrival Excellent film. Basically focused on what humanity does when presented with an alien race that's not trying to instantly murder them as per pretty much every other alien film. It's got some really clever bits, and the climax is a phone call :) Can't say much more without giving stuff away. ...

From the scenes in that trailer, some are direct reproductions from the original, which I'd imagine are early scenes and it'll diverge a bit later. Good thing is that the original anime's director has been heavily involved in it, so I'm cautiously thinking it might actually turn out really well.
